This coin was issued in 2007 by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.This treaty established the European Economic Community.
The obverse side of the coin shows the treaty being signed by the six countries involved and the paving of the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, where the treaty was signed. The reverse side of the coin displays a map of Europe.
